In the demanding world of automotive repair, technicians were frustrated by their battery testers, so much so, they often wouldn't use them at all. These bulky, complicated devices were slowing them down and frustrating the mechanics, the business, and ultimately their customers.
As the project lead, we spent time in repair shops listening to what mechanics needed, then went back to test prototypes and use-cases to create a new device. We cut the weight by 50%, simplified 13 screens down to just two, and made it smart enough to send results straight to customers' phones.
