Giving Overlanders Peace of Mind
Today's overlanding and off-roading experience runs on power. Losing it can turn an adventure into a major headache, or worse. During field research across North America, I saw rats' nests of wiring, overconfident installations that nearly caused fires, and beautifully built $100K Sprinter vans with power systems held together by duct tape. People thought they knew what they were doing. Many didn't.
REDARC, an Australian leader in rugged mobile power, was entering the U.S. market with engineering-led products for serious adventurers. The technical capability was there, but the disconnect was in understanding what people needed.
I led field research with 27 overlanders and vanlife users across three states, documenting power setups, installation struggles, and real-world failures. Users needed better education instead of more confusing specs. They wanted systems without custom wiring and the installation anxiety it created. They loved working on their rigs, and they needed the confidence to install it, and trust it in the wild.

The research established REDARC's North American expansion strategy and delivered 30+ actionable insights across products, services, and support. Pre-wired power panels were among the first product directions to emerge from the research. No rat's nests and no guesswork. Off-grid power became something you could trust without being an expert.
